A real life story about Munchausen by Proxy

I was watching a Pure Science episode on mothers with Munchausen by Proxy and both Julie and her book were mentioned in the episode. This peaked my interest and I checked the book out from my local library.
What I found inside was not only medical abuse but also verbal and physical abuse of the author growing up. This is her story starting from her early years, through her teen years and how she learned to cope as an adult. The book was really good at describing her abuse throughout the years but got a bit vague at the end with her adult years. A lot of time was spent on the younger years and abuse but seemed to be just a quick rush through to get to the end of the story during her adult years. I would have liked the book to have been a little longer and explain how things worked out fighting her mother through back doors, did she save those other children too?
Overall I would recommend people read it, I think a lot of people tend to ignore the evil in the world if it is not directly happening to them and don't even realize Munchausen by Proxy is a real thing and a form of abuse. When people saw me reading the book and asked what it was about 60% of the time I had to explain what it is. This book will get your emotions going, I felt horrified, angry, upset, sad throughout this whole book. However at no point did I want to put it down, I wanted to finish it to see how her life turned out.
